- GET MOVING
When you’re on holiday, exercising doesn’t have to strictly consist of the gym, it can be any sport that gets you moving. Pick one that you can also have fun with and meet people! Volleyball, kayaking, surf, swimming are just some options.
- EXPLORE THE AREA
If you don’t have access to sports or gym facilities, why not just simply go for a walk and explore the area? This way you will burn some extra calories whilst on a walking tour. So ditch public transport and put on some comfy shoes!
- CONTROL THE PROPORTIONS
If you are on holidays and have access to amazing hotel buffets and a huge variety of rare indulgent foods, don’t constrain yourself to a salad and some plain chicken. Go ahead and try things but maybe opt for small portions or even try sharing a dish with your companion.
- HEALTHY SNACKING
If we are going to exceed your daily calories intake at breakfast or at dinner, why not try to balance it by lowering your carb intake at these meals and instead have healthy snacks throughout the day? Instead of eating a bag of crisps by the pool, try have a cooling slice of watermelon. Delicious right?
- KEEP HYDRATED
It’s recommended to drink around 2.5 litres a day, especially if we are by the pool and in hot weather as we sweat more. So, while other habits might be difficult to stick to, we can always ensure we drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
- ENJOY YOURSELF
It’s very important to look after your physical health but remember, mental health is just as important. So relaxing and not worrying too much will also help you, inside and outside! So, if you are craving a cocktail go for it! You are after all on holiday and will have plenty of time to burn it when you’re back home 😊
